Frequently asked questions

The five things everyone asks before joining.

What is FMV HealthSpace Community?

A community for health and wellbeing, where you can ask questions, find information worth having, and reach specialists from a range of fields.

Here you will find perspectives and experience from the community, and material made by professionals too — articles, educational resources, courses, events and live sessions.

FMV HealthSpace is not a clinic and does not replace seeing a doctor. It is a place that brings people and specialists closer together, so that good information, conversation and support are easier to find.

Is access free?

Your account is free and will stay free. You can take part in the conversation, comment, save material and follow specialists at no cost.

You can explore the platform even without an account: the feed, the specialist profiles, the courses and the sessions on offer are all visible. You need an account only when you want to take part actively – to write, to save material, or to sign up for a course or a session.

Some courses, events and sessions are paid, and the price is set by the specialist who runs them. You will always see the price before you pay, and everything that is free will stay free. We do not change the rules along the way, and you will never be charged retroactively for content you accessed for free.

What does “verified specialist” mean?

The verification mark means we have examined the documents attesting to the specialist's professional training – degrees, licences or certifications – and that these match the specialisation claimed. Every check is carried out by hand, by a member of our team.

That mark is not, however, a guarantee of results or a certification of the quality of the services offered. The platform is not an accreditation body, and specialists work independently, taking responsibility for the recommendations and the services they provide.

If you come across information that strikes you as incorrect, misleading or potentially dangerous, please tell us. We will look at it carefully and, if necessary, we can withdraw verified specialist status.

Can I get a treatment or a diagnosis here?

No. The information published on the platform, and the replies given by community members or by specialists, are informative and educational only. They are not a medical consultation and cannot replace the assessment, diagnosis or recommendations of a professional who examines you directly.

If you are facing a medical emergency or severe symptoms, call 112 immediately or go to the nearest medical facility. Do not wait for an answer on the platform.

Likewise, do not start, stop or change a treatment on the basis of information read here. Any decision about your treatment must be taken together with the doctor or specialist who follows your health.

How do I join as a specialist?

Joining as a specialist takes two simple steps, one after the other.

In the first step, you create your account and select the “Specialist” option when you sign up. The account is created as a member account to begin with, so that you can use the platform and the community from the very start. Creating the account does not, however, mean automatic approval as a specialist.

In the second step, you fill in the specialist application. You will be able to select one or more specialisations, add a short professional introduction and the relevant information about your training and experience: qualifications, certifications, years of experience and where you practise. Here you will also indicate the country in which you work, because professional titles and the conditions for practising may be regulated differently from one country to another. You can likewise choose whether you would like to take bookings through the platform.

Every application is reviewed by hand, by a member of the team, not by an algorithm. You will receive the answer both by e-mail and through the notifications on the platform. Until the review is complete, your account stays active as a member account and you can carry on using the community.

Once approved, your profile receives specialist status, and you can publish and share professional content on the platform: articles, courses, video material or live sessions.

For inclusion in the Specialist Directory and for verified profile status, the documents attesting to your professional training must also be checked. They can be uploaded from Studio → Qualifications.

The documents are checked by hand, one at a time, and are treated confidentially. They are accessible only to the team responsible for verification and are never shown on your public profile.

If you would like to sign up a practice, a clinic, a centre or another organisation, the process is similar, except that you fill in the form dedicated to organisations, which asks for information about the legal entity and its activity.

We want FMV HealthSpace to be a community built on trust, transparency and professional responsibility. For that reason we look carefully both at specialists' qualifications and at the way they present their work and communicate within the community.

Health, nutrition and wellbeing are fields that can directly influence people's decisions. That is why we prefer a careful and responsible review, so that members of the community can trust the professionals, the information and the services they discover on the platform.
